Configuration correct for gaming?

I would get an i7 not an i5. i5 is sufficient, but i7 will have the extra cores. The Intel Core i7 990x is the fastest Desktop cpu. Put a really powerful heatsink on it too. Something like the Spire Thermax Eclipse II. Get a better graphics card. Look at getting the nvidia GTX 580 or 590. None of this should go over your budget.
